The club is partnering with Wasteco to bring a large paper shredding truck to Town to shred personal and financially sensitive documents onsite. The waste will then be used in recycled paper products.

Our goals are to:
  • provide our community environmentally friendly service to shred personal and confidential documents.
  • raise awareness of environmental issues
  • raise awareness of identity theft and the importance of securely disposing of personal information.
The shredding truck will be located at the parking lot at the rear of Rotary Hall at 39 Grey Street South, Southampton on a “first come first served” basis.

ON THE DAY - HOW IT WORKS

COVID protocols are in place. Please wear a MASK.

Entry is by donation…suggested minimum is $10 per Bankers Box or equivalent.  Have your cash or card payment method ready. (CASH preferred)

On arrival choose your lane.
  • RIGHT Lane is Credit/Debit/Cash/Pre-booked orders
  • LEFT Lane is CASH only
After making your donation proceed to the next available unloading slot.

Volunteers will help take the boxes, from your vehicle and quickly verify there are no metal or foreign objects and will then dump them into a Wasteco bin.

The Wasteco bin holds 10 boxes and is then lifted and dumped into the truck and the shredding begins. You may keep your boxes or you may discard them in the special cardboard recycling bins.

On completion proceed towards the exit and turn LEFT on Grey Street towards High Street. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR EVENT.

Any proceeds over and above the costs will go to Rotary causes, including the maintenance and upkeep of Rotary Perkins Park.

SHRED-N-GO coincides with World Earth Week. Rotary Clubs throughout the world will be showcasing environmental awareness during World Earth Week and this is our way of focusing on this crucial issue, and it is in addition to our annual County Road 3, Perkins Park, Beach clean-ups, and tree planting initiatives at Perkins Park.
