How you can help.
This year’s Mardi Gras evening will feature a welcome cocktail, musical entertainment, dinner, dancing, to a live band, silent and live auctions, and our special Fund A Need auction, all in support of Rotary projects that make a difference locally and internationally.
Over the years, Fund A Need has helped turn generosity into action by supporting important community projects such as the G.C. Huston Playground, therapeutic horses for PRANCE, the school musical instrument refurbishment project, and the Helliwell Park Light Up the Pitch Campaign.
October 24th is also World Polio Day. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will support Rotary’s End Polio Now initiative, helping advance Rotary’s long-standing commitment to eradicating this terrible disease. It is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together for a common purpose.

For more than 35 years, Rotary has been at the heart of the global effort to eradicate polio. Through PolioPlus and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Rotarians have helped immunize billions of children, support frontline health workers, strengthen surveillance systems, and bring the world closer than ever to ending polio forever.
Polio is a highly infectious disease that mainly affects young children. It can cause paralysis, and there is no cure — but it can be prevented through vaccination. The world has made extraordinary progress, but until polio is eradicated everywhere, children everywhere remain at risk.
Our event this year coincides with World Polio Day so we will be taking the opportunity to showcase our work in helping eradicate this terrible disease. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will support Rotary’s End Polio Now initiative.
Rotary’s promise is simple: we stay until the job is done.
For more information about Rotary's involvement in Polio check our END POLIO NOW website.
History of the Auction
Since 2003, the Southampton Rotary Club has hosted its Annual Dinner and Auction every October, with a brief pause in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The idea for the auction came from club member Ron Luciano, who also served as the auctioneer in its early years. Originally held at Chippewa Golf and Country Club (now known as Southampton Golf and Country Club), the event later became the premier fall gathering at the Walker House.
In 2025, we are reimagined the event with an exciting new twist—a dance featuring a 1920s Speakeasy theme, hosted at The Loft 1020 at Powerlink in Port Elgin. This year we are continuing the fun with a Mardi Gras Theme..!
During the COVID-enforced pause, our club pivoted to virtual events, organizing an East Coast Kitchen Party, Jazz for the Light, a St. Patrick’s Day celebration, and a series of cooking shows—each featuring an online auction to continue our fundraising impact.
