Helping Beirut
Southampton Rotary Club joined Rotary Clubs from Ontario who worked with McMaster Hospital
and Rotary Clubs in Lebanon to send critical medical supplies to Beirut, Lebanon.
The horrific devastation in Beirut demolished three hospitals creating a desperate need for medical supplies. Rotary Clubs though out Southern Ontario worked with the Beirut Cedars Rotary Club and McMaster Hospital to identify the needs. The Rotary Clubs sourced, packaged and shipped skids and containers full of supplies to Beirut. The Southampton Rotary Club donated $500.00 to help cover the cost of shipping. The Club’s International Committee Chair commented “It is amazing what we can do when we partner with other Clubs and organisations. Rotary really does "connect the world”.
